You apply via the coach application form on the knwn. website. The form covers your qualifications, experience, professional insurance, your approach to client work, and why you want to join the platform.

After submitting, a member of the knwn. team will review your application. If you progress, you'll be invited to an interview before any decision is made.

What are the requirements to be listed?

We look for coaches who are qualified, experienced, and insured in their practice area. Specifically:

– Relevant qualifications in your specialism
– Current professional indemnity insurance
– Demonstrated experience working with clients
– Membership of a relevant professional body (where applicable)
– A clear and considered approach to client outcomes

We're interested in how you actually work, not just your credentials on paper.

Is the application process selective?

Yes. We don't approve every application, and we keep cohorts intentionally small — particularly at launch — so we can get the matching right before we scale.

The vetting process exists because it's what makes the platform worth being on. Clients who come through knwn. trust that every coach has met a real standard.

Question 4

How does the matching algorithm use my profile?

Accepted Answer

Your profile in the system includes your goal areas, specialisms, health conditions you work with, session format, location, price range, and coaching style. When a client completes the quiz, these are scored against their answers.

The more accurately your profile reflects what you actually do and who you work best with, the better your matches will be. Getting the detail right during onboarding matters.

What happens when I'm matched with a client?

You'll receive an email notification immediately when a client is matched to you. The email includes:

– The client's first name and email address
– Their goals and the type of support they're looking for
– Any notes or preferences they've flagged
– The AI-generated explanation of why you were matched
– Whether you're the primary match or a runner-up

It's your responsibility to reach out to the client directly to introduce yourself and arrange a discovery call.

Question 6

How quickly should I respond to a match?

Accepted Answer

We ask that you respond within 72 hours of receiving a match notification. If we haven't logged a response within that window, the platform will automatically notify the next best match and inform the client.

You'll receive reminder emails at 24 and 48 hours if no response has been recorded. You can manage your notification preferences from your coach portal settings.

Will I be matched with clients who aren't right for me?

The system is designed to avoid poor matches. Hard exclusion rules mean that if a client flags something you don't work with, you won't be surfaced for them. Budget mismatches are also factored in.

The system works best when your profile is complete and accurate. If you're seeing matches that don't feel right, get in touch and we'll review your profile settings.

Question 9

Do you take a commission on client fees?

Accepted Answer

No. Fees are agreed directly between you and your client. knwn. does not take a cut of your coaching fees. The structure is designed to give you full ownership of your client relationships and pricing.

Question 10

Can I set my own prices?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You set your own price range, which is stored in your profile across five tiers: Under £100 / £100–£200 / £200–£300 / £300+ per month. This is used in the matching algorithm to surface you for clients whose budget aligns with what you charge.

What client data do I receive?

Accepted Answer

At the point of match, you receive the client's name, email address, goals, coaching preferences and any notes they've shared. Sensitive health condition data (where provided) is not included in plain-text and needs to be discussed between you and the consumer.

Health condition information is classified as Special Category Data under UK GDPR. knwn. processes this data under strict controls and explicit client consent. As a coach on the platform, you are expected to handle any client health information you receive with the same care and confidentiality you would apply in any professional coaching relationship.
